Rising Up Campaign

The Rising Up Campaign is a San Francisco public-private partnership (Office of Financial Empowerment, Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and Tipping Point Community) with a goal of expanding and supplementing existing services to achieve a 50% reduction in homelessness among transitional aged youth (TAY) by 2023 through rapid rehousing and supportive services. Financial Capability Investment provides individual financial coaching to TAY youth enrolled in this initiative.

720 Initiative

Able Works and Financial Capability Investment launched the 720 Credit Initiative through East Palo Alto’s Measure C Grant Program. Through financial workshops and one-on-one credit building coaching, low-income East Palo Alto residents will achieve the long-term goal of attaining over a 720 credit score, which increases financial opportunities and self-sufficiency. Able Works Livable program and Financial Capability Investment partnered with The Primary School, Nuestra Casa, Eden Housing’s Light Tree Property and Year Up Facebook Campus to reach 75 Participants.


Financial Capability Investment conducted a thorough needs assessment and capacity building of the Financial Wellness component of their Livable program.

Financial Capability Investment is supporting the buildout of a national Savings to Credit program that target’s Transitional Age Youth (TAY) in workforce programs.

Financial Capability Investment created a voluntary financial wellness program for residents in East Palo Alto subsidized housing units managed by Palo Alto Housing Corporation. The partnership hosted workshops and virtual financial coaching sessions focused on building savings, repairing credit and personalized financial goals and action plans.

 

Financial Capability Investment worked with Peninsula Family Services to implement services for Foster Youth and Mature Workers. The foster youth program is a 4-year partnership with the Human Services Agency of San Mateo County and provides workshops and individual coaching that focus on getting youth banked, financial education, and helping build credit. The mature worker program is a partnership with Nova Job Center and provides workshops on Social Security Benefits.

 

Financial Capability Investment provides financial education workshops to cohorts of participants who are enrolled in their workforce training program, Opportunity Build.
