John Luna, Founder and CEO

John Luna has been a financial Coach since 2008, distinguishing himself as a San Francisco Bay Area expert in personal finance and credit building.

John has a diverse background in business, non profit program development and service delivery, finance, capital markets and real estate. In 2008, John reconnected to his social activism and wanted to bring the financial knowledge he had gained at previous jobs to communities that didn’t have access to high quality financial education and support. John worked as a financial coach at MyPath from 2008 until 2016 where he was involved in designing and implementing various financial coaching initiatives.

John launched Financial Capability Investment in 2016. Financial Capability Investment seeks to bring quality financial coaching to underserved communities in order to create opportunities for financial mobility for individuals, families and whole communities.

John has helped over 8,500 clients address serious personal and financial challenges giving them support and tested tools to achieve financial security. A San Francisco native, UC Berkeley graduate, and former registered Investment Advisor, John brings a unique and powerful combination of local, cultural and financial expertise to his work with diverse clients and partners.
